Ongoing education is the key to giving our customers superior carpet cleaning.  We will be returning to The Experience Conference and Exhibition this month.  We will be learning about new cleaning techniques, cleaning solutions and products plus the latest trends in carpet cleaning.

In addition, we will discover new research, the most up-to-date information and the best tools available in the carpet cleaning industry today.  This will enable us to provide our customers with the best cleaning service possible.

Being an IICRC (Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification) Certified Firm means keeping up on education.  All of our technicians are required to be certified in carpet cleaning.  They need to take continuing education classes in order to keep their certification.  This allows them to have the knowledge needed to properly clean and repair your carpet.  Following is a list of certifications that our technicians hold:

The Norwalk virus or Norovirus (the virus that causes the stomach flu) can survive on an un cleaned carpet for a month or more.

The oldest surviving carpet is the celebrated Pazyryk carpet, which is over 2,000 years old. It was found in the 1940s in a Scythian tomb in southern Siberia

Microbiologists have identified air blown from a running vacuum cleaner as one of the five places     in the home that has the highest numbers of germs. Other places include dish sponges, washing         machines, bathroom toilets during a flush, and kitchen trash cans.

Each year, several pounds of soil can accumulate in and under a carpet.

A person sheds about 1.5 million skin flakes an hour, most of which becomes embedded in our carpets

To raise depressions in the carpet left by heavy    furniture, hold a steam iron close enough for steam to reach the carpet, but don’t let the iron touch the carpet. Lift fibers by scraping them with edge of a coin or spoon.

Fiber content and construction are the major factors that determine the appropriate rug cleaning method. The IICRC offers several tips for keeping your rugs looking like new:

Vacuum rugs on a regular basis. Fringe should be hand-vacuumed only.

When spills occur, scoop or blot-up the excess.  Then dilute the area with water and blot - don't rub - until no more color is visible on your clean, white towel.  Ideally, rugs should be removed from the home or office to be professionally cleaned. Rotate your rugs once a year to ensure even wear.
How often should your rug be professionally cleaned? The answer depends on its location in your home. Does it get heavy foot traffic? Are there any pets? Often, animals are drawn to rugs and can leave behind unpleasant surprises that require specialized treatment.
